About Wendy

A multidimensional artist, Wendy has more than fifteen years’ experience in the beauty industry. In 1999 she opened Dandie, a cutting-edge hair salon on the Lower East Side. She sold the successful business in 2005 to concentrate on personalized service in a more intimate atmosphere, and Wendy Kidd Studio was born in 2006.

With her signature edgy style and warm personality, Wendy offers haircuts, and aromatherapy  elixir treatments, for hair and scalp, customized for each valued client. Wendy’s innovative work has been lauded in magazines, books and on TV, including Vogue, Elle Decor, Nylon, Details, Paper, Surface, OUT, Time Out New York, Nerve.com’s anthology “Sex Advice From…,” MTV series “Makeover Madness” and more.

When not cutting hair, Wendy plays drums in various New York City bands and enjoys strolling with her beloved Boston Terrier Quentin around the East Village. She enjoys strong coffee, stimulating conversation, good friends, meeting new people, traveling, collecting ink, seeing art, going to films and listening to music. She loves helping people feel good about themselves by honoring each individual’s uniqueness.
